Cookie Crushed

Just received this message from Temperences teacher,

I made a mistake. I did not know I could not pass out homemade goodies. I feel horrible that you and Temperence made the cutiest cookies and I can not give them to the students. Please except my apology.

Cookie fail, hope she isn’t too crushed.

Update: she was able to pass out the cookies after school. Everyone found them delicious

Gingerbread Cookies

Temperence was overly excited when she arrived home. They are learning about gingerbread cookies and how elaborate they can be. She asked her teacher if she could bring in cookies for the entire class. I tried to score some at Safeway but they were out. I grabbed the ingredients and we baked them. I was proud of her she helped get all the ingredients, she rolled the dough, did all the cutouts and iced them.

Christmas in the park

We headed to San Jose to grab Kay and go check out Christmas in the park as we always have. I had heard it would be packed but nothing could have prepared us for the massive crowds. Unfortunately due to that I didn’t take pictures but we will go back after Christmas to try again.

Here is a picture from the drive

Santa

We arrived at 5:30 and checked in, we were told 46 minutes and would be receiving text to return and stand in line. We went to Bass Pro Shop they had fun crafts and games to keep kiddos entertained. Plus their store is enjoyable to be in. They have a huge fish tank and it’s two stories. I was fortunate my kids were entertained kids were melting all around and teenagers were back talking. However once we got in line Cadence was done. It was past dinner and bed time. Temperence wanted to know why they didn’t have two Santa’s to make it go quicker since he is not the real Santa. I looked at her and told her not everyone knows that. Temperence said he’s fake but he keeps track of what everyone is asking for and provides the information for Santa. Once we made it to the front of the line, Temperence was excited and I placed Cadence on Santa’s lap...... she cried so hard nothing came out. Then even though they took the picture and she was back with me she would not stop crying. Bearded man was not for her.

Progress report

Temperence came running into the house after school with some exciting news, I have good grades! All her hard work and adjusting to a new school and it being public. Her previous school didn’t have any type of grades they did a detailed biography of the year.

Taking her time

The picture on the right was the one she completed in class, her teacher sent it home for her to redo. The teacher told her she needs to work on her coloring. At first I was kinda upset her teacher would say that but once I seen the work I quickly realized she just wanted to get it over with and did not apply herself.  The picture on the left is what she did at home. She was proud of that work. Hopefully lesson learned

Girls night in

After Cadence went to bed, Temperence and I did facial masks and she painted her toenails. I have a hard time reaching them however Temperence did offer. I was also unable to locate any nail polish remover, I have gel on since my mom, Temperence and I went. We also watched the Christmas Chronicles on Netflix, we loved it.

Happy first birthday Cadence

Wow what a year, time really speeds up with the birth of another child. I try to take a breath and remember before i know it she will be off to college. Cadence learned how to pull herself up on anything and everything lately. She also is teething, she will sometimes bite me, furniture poor girl. She has four teeth and two are just showing the tip. Eating pretty much anything you place in front of her.   Reading is becoming more and more, she loves the Three Little Piggy’s (has a finger puppet in it).  She is still not into a her sippy cup. She drinks a sip and chews on them. I have tried a few different kinds and she won’t take, figured she is just not ready. Will keep offering.

Cadence has a true passion for food

Temperences and Cadence are opposite when it comes to food. When Temperences was a baby she wouldn’t eat solids till after she turned one. Cadence has been eating them long before one. Cadence was enjoying raw spinach (I dropped a piece while making a salad) so I set her up in her chair and she enjoyed it. I enjoy watching how alike and how different they are. Cadence loved manicotti, green beans, carrots, corn, asparagus, Lima beans, peas, eggs and the list goes on and on.

Temperence playing with her horses

We watched the series Spirit, has a horse and now she is digging out her horse toys.

Thank you grandma and papa

Her first birthday gift. She looks like such a big girl.

Bella

Bella is loosing all her hair from mites. I have taken her to the vet several times. It has come to the point we have to use those nasty chemical dips. The vet said six times and it may take up to 15 times. The girls then can’t touch her and we will have to crate her or she needs to be outside. Poor thing she hates being away from us and tends to get into mischief.

Lights are up on our home

Lawn spiders?

Woke up to a chilly morning, I looked into the backyard. I thought it was ice but when I checked it out closer, it was spider webs.

Grandpa playing chess with my daddy

My dad and Barb went to visit my grandpa and I asked for a picture. The resemblance is amazing.

Thank you grandma and grandpa

For Cadences birthday and Christmas she was given the cutest playhouse. She has been playing with it non stop. She used the door and all of a sudden figured the window was better.

Update on Temperences mole

Dermatologist called me at 8:00pm to discuss, I knew that wasn’t going to be good. She said the pathologist said it is an atypical spitz nevus -- a type of mole that resembles melanoma and can develop into melanoma if left untreated. She was referred to a head and neck surgeon. Next step was a phone appointment with the surgeon, she wanted to make sure we understood everything that was going to be happening. Dr. Said they will put her under and the surgery itself should be 30 minutes, they are removing 1.5cm and will send it off. They need to remove enough that they hit regular tissue. This time they are using dissolving stiches. Temperence will need to be home for a few days to manage pain. Luckily her winter break is the day after the surgery so she won’t be missing tons of school.

Inside Decorations

New kitchen toy

My mom and Steve bought me this bad boy for my birthday. I was so excited to use it, my first dish tasted good but the chicken was undercooked. Typically if I don’t see pink they are cooked. After reading reviews I learned with the IP you get rubbery chicken when undercooked. Second meal was fried rice, great flavor rice was mushy. I used the rice setting. Will keep trying

Cuddles from daddy

He was going to bed as the girls were getting up.

Rice Crispy Treats

Temperence and I made treats and they were gone within a day. So yummy! Was fun making the shapes.

Happy 34th Birthday to me

Chris worked on my actual birthday so we celebrated on Sunday. Temperence and I made cupcakes the night before and decorated. They surprised me with a lovely plant for the backyard. Temperence had her heart set on this one plant they seen about a month prior when they went to homedepot. She was worried it would be gone but Chris kept telling her that they won’t be able to hide it for that long and it would die. We enjoyed a yummy dinner.

We went and picked up a beautiful flocked tree, I was pleasantly surprised the price was the same as the green trees. We don’t have to water it and it is flame retardant and nontoxic.

Edit

Thanksgiving with the Sneeds

We enjoyed Thanksgiving with the Presenti’s and Sneeds. We have been trying to connect for months but I have been so up and down that it hasn’t worked. This pregnancy definitely has been the toughest to date. We enjoyed a lovely meal, u always enjoy tasting new dishes. It was a short visit but brought great joy.
